“A Light in the Darkness” is an inspirational and very personal book on survival and humanity. The emotional story of Michelle Sanborn places you directly into her life narrative as she confronts the stinging reality of family secrets, anguish, and fortune. The novel is oozing with hope and belief in success despite all odds, and anyone can easily identify with someone struggling to find their way out. Michelle narrates her life story and recollections of her childhood and her relations with her family in her autobiography, and it is an excellent source of information on the sufferings of life and the strength of being a weak person. This book will invite us to live and seek light even in the most trying times, thus inviting the readers to feel that we are one part of each other and that we are not fighting each other. It also makes a good inspirational read when one needs to be encouraged and reaffirmed, when one needs to be reminded of how beautiful love is and how strong the human spirit is.
“A Light in the Darkness” is an issue of emotional endurance and bravery. The story Michelle Sanborn shared with me was intriguing as she disclosed the inner aspects of family crisis. It is actually quite empowering that she can be vulnerable and shed light on the way to hope. It is an emotional restatement that one should never lose hope, even when things are dark and ugly; the light is always present, somewhere.
Michelle Sanborn uses a richly textured story that touches the heart and the mind in her book. Her childhood, family, and personal reflections are very relatable. Her eloquence in her process of moving out of despair to empowerment is remarkable. The fact that “A Light in the Darkness” is a sign of survival and an invitation to the reader to discover what they are capable of when the time comes.
It was an educational process to read this book. Michelle Sanborn takes the courage to give the story of her family, and reveals layers of pain and power. She is a genuine voice and her story is pertinent and convincing. Every part of the book informs the reader of the issues faced and uplifts them with the message that things can be cured and that they have a future.
